Updates for the John Calvin Collins Scholarship
We've received our Charitable Solicitation Licensing for Exemption on September5, 2025
When do we want to start our campaign drive?
We hope to give $1000.oo scholarship to the students in two parts that fall in different fiscal years. Therefore, the scholarships will not be subject to income taxes.
We have expenses for the webpage: $300.00 for domain(pd)
$100.00 for technical support(pd) USPS-$256.00 (pd),
IRS$25.00(pd) for 2026, and NC licensing $0.00 for 2026.
We have $450.00 in our scholarship fund

John Calvin Collins
November 14, 1948 - May 24, 1968
John Collins attended W. S. King High School and graduated from West Carteret High School in May 1967. John was the only American soldier to have a Morehead City, North Carolina address to be killed in the Vietnam Conflict. Private Collins was unfortunately killed in South Vietnam on May 24, 1968 and was awarded the Purple Heart Medal posthumously.
